Method
How the estimate works
Volume is divided by a base crew handling rate, then access multipliers are applied for stairs and long carries. Loading and unloading are both included.
Worked example
A 900 cubic foot move with three people and one flight of stairs is estimated at roughly seven total crew-clock hours across both ends.

- Drive time is not included.

Is drive time included?
No. The estimate covers hands-on loading and unloading. Add travel, breaks, truck pickup, weigh stations, and parking time separately.
How do stairs affect moving time?
Stairs slow each trip and increase fatigue. Narrow turns, exterior steps, and high-rise elevator travel can have an even larger effect.
Will a larger crew always be faster?
Only to a point. Tight spaces and one loading door limit how many people can work efficiently at once.
